Switch on to savings for Sustainable Energy Week
Small and medium-sized businesses in Cambridgeshire are being urged to take advantage of a limited pot of funding which can help them implement energy and money saving measures.
Sustainable Energy Week brings together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers from across Europe to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards clean, secure and efficient power.
As part of the European wide Sustainable Energy Week, which runs from 19th – 25th June, the Business Energy Efficiency (BEECP) programme is encouraging businesses to sign up for fully funded support to reduce energy use and save money.
The BEECP programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is being delivered across Cambridgeshire through a partnership of Peterborough Environment City Trust, Groundwork and NWES.
The programme has two core offers to businesses that meet the eligibility criteria for support;
Free Energy Reviews – Our energy efficiency advisors will visit the business’ premises to conduct a free, impartial and independent review that identifies the best cost and energy saving opportunities.
Grant Funding – a limited pot of European funding is available to support participating businesses to implement energy efficiency measures.
“We recommend that small to medium-sized businesses take up this opportunity for a free energy audit, while there’s still availability” says Project Manager Antony Gough. “We can provide support and grants to eligible businesses to help catalyse investment in energy efficiency initiatives, to reduce carbon emissions and realise the associated business benefits including; reduced operating costs, increased competitiveness, business growth and resilience.”
The funding has been secured from the European Regional Development Fund and businesses are being urged to ensure they make the most of this opportunity, because when Britain leaves the EU, opportunities to apply for European funding may no longer exist.
